DONNA ALLEN, Designer

Donna’s approach to design reflects the way she lives - with joy, good sense and a touch of adventure. Originally from Pennsylvania, Donna married an Aussie bloke and moved across the world. Based on Middle Harbour and near Manly Beach, she started The Space Within in 2008 and has served clients around Sydney for nearly 20 years.

Backed by her formal design education, a successful early career in corporate managements and decades of experience leading complex home transformations, Donna balances each project with critical thinking and the know-how to bring ambitious ideas to life. She believes home should be a place that energises and lifts you up, and she brings that same spirit to the design experience itself, confidently leading you through one of life’s great adventures: creating your most joyful home.

When not in her studio, Donna can be found bushwalking, paddleboarding on the harbour and planning the renovation to the chook pen in readiness for adopting her next flock. She also loves to travel to far-flung designations for inspiration, sourcing and expanding her knowledge in the field. Recent trips include Kauai, Milan and Copenhagen.
